World War II Memorial renovated

Mattoon, IL Council #1057 members renovated the World War II Memorial located in front of City Hall in Mattoon. The Memorial was erected shortly after the conclusion of WWII and memorializes local WWII soldiers. Council #1057 members worked throughout the month of June to completely renovate the Memorial in time for Independence Day. The WWII Memorial serves as a symbol of local pride and patriotism. Pictured are those Knights who worked on and supported this important project.

Public Works Conducing Mosquito Spraying Work

The City's Public Works Department is scheduled to conduct mosquito spraying starting Wednesday, July 1.

City Wide Clean-Up day

The City of Mattoon will be conducting a City wide clean-up day from 8 A.M. to 11 A.M. on
Saturday, May 21, 2016. The City will have dumpsters available at the Yard Waste Facility at
Shelby Avenue and Logan Street.

Ameren Tree Trimming Work

Ameren reports they will soon begin to trim trees interfering with electric lines at various locations in and around the City of Mattoon to help minimize power outages.  Customers affected should receive a notice from Ameren.  

1300 Block of Richmond Ave Closed 11/7-11/18

Environmental Health will have the 1300 block of Richmond Ave. closed from Monday, November 7th to Friday, November 18th. This will be for the second set of injections during the property clean-up process.
