Since Illinois has moved to Phase 5 and the reopening of all business to full capacity, the City of Mattoon has partially reopened City Hall as of Monday, June 14, 2021. For the time being, the water payment window inside the Finance Department will remain closed. The public is still encouraged to conduct business online, on the phone, or by email.
New water service requests and disconnection of service requests can be made here.
Water payments can be made here, over the phone by calling 844-701-1148 (toll free and your account number will be needed), or by dropping off your payment outside City Hall in the water payment drop box east of the parking lot.
Applications for Birth and Death certificates, and their payments, are also available here: mattoon.illinois.gov/certificate-request.
