City Limiting Access to Municipal Buildings

In an effort to reduce the risk to our staff and the potential spreading of the Coronavirus, the City of Mattoon is limiting public access to its buildings.  These buildings include:  City Hall, the Police Department, the two Fire Stations, the Tourism Office at the Mattoon Train Depot, and the Public Works Building.  These changes start on Wednesday, March 18, 2020.  The City is continuing to monitor and evaluate the situation, but it is not known when these changes will be reversed.  We are asking the public to do as much business as they can by e-mail, through the City’s website, or by telephone.
