The City of Mattoon is accepting applications for a Water Treatment Plant Superintendent. 5 years of water treatment experience is required. Candidates must have a Class A Water Treatment Operators License.
The Mattoon Water Treatment Plant is a lime softening plant with clarification, recarbonation, filtering, and chlorination. The raw water sources are Lake Paradise and Lake Mattoon. The plant was constructed in 2000. The rated capacity is 7 mgd. The average daily production is 2 mgd with a peak of 3 mgd.
The plant is manned 24hrs/day, 365 days/yr. The plant staff includes 1 Lab Director/Operator, 1 Lead Operator, 1 Maintenance Person/Operator, and 2 additional Plant Operators. The Superintendent has primary on-call responsibility after hours. The Lead Operator shares part of the on-call duty. The annual salary range is $80,000 to $90,000 DOQ.
