The City of Mattoon is accepting applications for 1 opening in the Street Department, and 1 opening in the Parks Department.
The Street Department maintains; Streets, Sidewalks, Water Distribution, Sanitary Sewers, Storm Drainage, Buildings & Grounds, Boulevard Trees, and Landscaping.
The Parks Department maintains City Parks, Athletic Fields, Lake Mattoon Public Use Areas, Dodge Grove Cemetery, Trees, and Landscaping.
Starting pay is $21.94/hr for experienced workers in Construction and/or Parks & Recreation, and $18.58/hr for entry level workers. Benefits include overtime, paid holidays, vacation & sick leave, health insurance, and retirement.
Mechanical aptitude and ability are required. The Street Department position is required to obtain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL), with Air Brake & Tanker Endorsements, within the first 6 months of employment.
