Assistant Information Technology Director

The City of Mattoon has an opening for the Assistant Information Technology Director. Working directly with the IT Director, this position plays a key role in managing, maintaining, and supporting the City’s technology resources. This is a hands-on versatile role that includes technology lifecycle management, network and server administration, client and desktop support, and hardware deployment.

The successful candidate should possess a strong foundation in supporting Microsoft Windows client and server environments, Active Directory, and core networking infrastructure. Candidates with experience in modern deployment tools or formal technology certifications will be given extra consideration. Applicants must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong customer service abilities to maintain effective working relationships with City personnel, vendors, and the public.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 (depending on qualifications)
  • Enrollment in the IMRF Pension System
  • Health and Dental Insurance (Vision optional)
  • Paid Time off

Assistant IT Director Job Description

  • Residency Requirement: Employees must reside within 20 miles of the corporate limits of the City of Mattoon (as the crow flies) no later than one year after hire date.
  • Employment is contingent upon a finalist’s ability to pass a criminal history background check and a drug screening check.
