The City of Mattoon is accepting applications for 4 laborer positions at the Street/Utility Department at 401 Dewitt Avenue East. The Street Department maintains; streets, sidewalks, water distribution, sanitary sewers, storm drainage, buildings & grounds, trees, and landscaping.
Starting pay is $22.48/hr for experienced construction workers, and $19.05/hr for applicants without construction experience. Benefits include overtime, paid holidays, vacation & sick leave, health insurance, and retirement. Mechanical aptitude is required. Successful candidates are required to obtain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL), with Air Brake & Tanker Endorsements, within the first 10 months of employment. The City will provide the CDL training.
