The City of Mattoon is accepting applicants for a Senior Engineering Technician. The primary duties include Computer-Aided Drafting and Design, Field Surveying, Construction Inspection, and Contract Administration, Plan Reviews, and other duties assigned related to the Public Works Department operations.
Candidates must possess at a minimum a 2-year Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent. Candidates should also have 10 plus years of experience working with Public Works-related projects. The successful candidate may have experience working in the areas of water, sanitary and storm sewers, roadway design, ADA guidelines, construction inspection, and other related types of work. Having IDOT certificates in PCC, HMA and Documentation of Quantities is a huge plus.
The starting salary range is $56,600/yr to $81,000/yr dependent upon education, experience and certificates held. The successful candidate is also eligible for paid overtime, health insurance, IMRF retirement, paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave.
