Parks Department – Part-Time Summer Position
The City of Mattoon Parks Department has an opening for a part-time summer position. $16/hour; approximately 20-30 hours a week. Job responsibilities include caring for the downtown landscaping, Heritage Park and Wolf Parks, weeding, planting flowers, trimming bushes and trees, mowing, trash pick up, clean and stock restrooms, assist opening restrooms on weekends, maintenance & upkeep as required. WWTP OPERATOR - CITY OF MATTOON The City of Mattoon is accepting applications for an operator at our Wastewater Treatment Plant. The open shift is Wednesday thru Saturday (4 ea 10 hrs/day, 7A to 5P). The position is open to entry-level candidates and experienced operators. An educational background in biology or chemistry is a plus. Mechanical aptitude is required. City of Mattoon Fire Hydrant Flushing – Beginning April 7th
City of Mattoon Fire Hydrant Flushing The City of Mattoon Public Works Department, will begin flushing fire hydrants Monday, April 7th, 2024 and continue until all lines are flushed. Flushing will be conducted weekdays between 6:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Hydrant flushing is done to ensure all City hydrants and water lines are operating properly and will be usable during a fire emergency.
