PUBLIC WORKS LABORERS

The City of Mattoon is accepting applications for 2 laborer positions at the Street Department at 401 Dewitt Avenue East. The Street Department maintains streets, sidewalks, water distribution, sanitary sewers, storm drainage, buildings & grounds, boulevard trees, and landscaping.

Starting pay is between $20.59/hr – $24.31/hr depending on qualifications. Benefits include overtime, paid holidays, vacation & sick leave, health insurance, and retirement. Applications are available from the City of Mattoon website at https://mattoon.illinois.gov/about/employment.

Mechanical aptitude and ability are required along with a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Air Brake & Tanker Endorsements.
