Summer Meal Program

The State of Illinois, with financial help from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), works to help feed children during the summer months.

In Mattoon, the Salvation Army manages a summer mobile feeding program named “Food on the Move,” which is detailed below.

Mattoon Locations

Monday – Friday from May 29th – August 9th
Our vehicle will stop at the following locations:

West Park Plaza 11:00 am
Lakeland Mobile Estates 11:40 am
Old State Village 12:20 pm
Sunrise Apts 1:00 pm
E Rudy Place 1:40 pm

Children MUST eat their lunch with us and cannot take any food home. We please ask that all children 5 and under come with a parent/guardian.

We will not serve on July 4th or 5th

In the case of thunderstorms, lightning, or torrential rain the Salvation Army reserves the right not to serve that day. Cancellations will be posted on The Salvation Army Facebook page by 10:30 am.
