Forget me not:
Please make plans to join in the first annual Forget me not, Race for Remembrance, Saturday April 14th at Lytle Park in Mattoon.The race begins at 8:30am and cost to participate is only $20 with proceeds benefiting efforts to provide awareness of pregnancy and infant loss as well as precious keepsakes for families affected by such loss. Donations will also be accepted at Lakeview College of Nursing ATTN: Jamie Summers 580 W Lincoln Ave, Charleston, IL 61920.

Celebrate good times...c'mon:
Earth Day is coming up, April 22nd but it is never to early to celebrate and there is no better place than Douglas Hart Nature Center. April 14th is the Earth Day Festival at Douglas Hart Nature Center with a variety of activities from 7am to 2pm. There will be a garage sale, plant sale and exchange, crafts, and a scavenger hunt.

Two great opportunities for Mattoon to show their love of sports.
This weekend kicks off the softball season with the 2012 Spring Round Robin Tourney hosted by the Mattoon Pride. Games will be April 14-15th at the Mattoon Roundhouse Complex.

Going for the Gold:
Don't miss your chance to go for the Gold at the "Gold" Splash Bash March 31st at the Mattoon YMCA from 5-10pm featuring Beckah Shae benefit concert at 7pm. Beckah Shae is a contemporary Christian artist with music that has the same beats at current top 40 hits but is an anthem for her faith. The hear some of her music check out www.beckahshae.com. All proceeds from the concert benefit Autiswim at the Mattoon YMCA. Concert tickets are only $5 per person and can be ordered online at www.matoonymca.org or at the Y. The Mattoon YMCA is located at 221 North 16th St. in Mattoon.

Come to the Y for a Hoppin' good time:
The Mattoon YMCA has teamed up with Broadway Christian Church to provide youth ages 0-11 years old the opportunity to collect Easter Eggs for gifts and healthy snacks! The event will be held this weekend March 31st at 10:30am. Families will have the opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny and participate in fun activities. This is a free community supported event filled with lots of fun for everyone! For more information
