Dial-A-Ride offers public transportation within Coles County, Illinois with scheduled service to Champaign, Urbana, Danville and Effingham. Dial-A-Ride is a demand response, door-to-door, handicapped accessible provider.
Hours of Operation are:
Monday – Friday 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday – 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Sunday – 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Fares: All fares are for 1 way trip
Over 60 traveling within city limits = Donation
Under 60 traveling within city limits or rural town = $3
All Ages traveling outside city limits or rural town = $4
All ages traveling outside Coles County = $7
**Passengers are required to have exact change for their rides.

Zip Line: Dial-A-Ride Public Transportation offers a deviated fixed route bus line that runs within and between the cities of Mattoon and Charleston. The Zip Line is available Monday-Friday (with the exception of major holidays) beginning at 8:00 a.m. with the last route starting at 2:00 p.m. The cost per passenger is $.50 each one way trip.
